All dozen or so rooms that are open to the public have a magnificent baroque decoration - including ornamented chimneypieces and ceilings, eclectic furniture collected throughout the centuries and a painting of 'Prinny', the Prince Regent and later King George IV who was a close friend of the family.
Wandering along the four corners of the house you will be amazed at the colourful interiour of the rooms. No single one ressembles the other. The contrast couldn't be more vivid - and splendid to be sure -Ìýwhen you walk from the red saloon into the green drawing room.
Another true highlight is the 40 foot high great hall. Looking upwards you can see the ceiling's centre medallion which shows Minerva, the Roman warrior goddess, racing across the sky.
