The 大象传媒 is celebrating the best of food from the West Midlands region with Eat Your Heart Out, a competition to find the best local cooking for British Food Fortnight.
大象传媒 local radio, 大象传媒 Midlands Today and the 大象传媒 Online sites are all running a competition to find the definitive local meal.

We are asking you to send us your favourite recipe associated with where you live. This can be a starter, main course or pudding as long as it has a Coventry or Warwickshire connection.
We will then compile the definitive three course meal for the area and give a brilliant prize for the best recipe.

The person who comes up with the best recipe, whether for a starter, main course, or dessert, from each county will win a family meal for up to five people at one of the finest restaurants in the West Midlands. Hopefully they will be able to have their winning recipe on the menu, too!
Should your course not win the top prize, you could still be in with a chance of a runners-up prize of six bottles of regional wine delivered to their door.

British Food Fortnight runs from 26 October to 10 November 2002 and you can send in your recipes any time until this date.
Send us your favourite local dish or recipe and we will put them on the website and enter you into the competition for a chance to win a meal for up to five people at a top local restaurant.

After the best local recipes have been chosen, all the chefs from the five regions will prepare their local menu.
The Your Countryside, You're Welcome committee has picked a high profile chef from each county in the area to cook up the best recipes.
Top local chef Anthony Robinson from The Inn at Farnborough has been selected to prepare and cook the Warwickshire dishes.
All five meals will be judged at a formal meal in November. The chef whose meal wins overall, will get a week in a European region of their choice to look at food preparation, marketing and best practice plus 拢500 of spending money.

The aim of Eat Your Heart Out is to draw attention to the delights that are on offer in the regional kitchen.
The hope is it will rediscover recipes that could be forgotten and to include everyone in a celebration of local produce and cooking.
During British Food Fortnight, restaurants around the region will be presenting regional menus and newspapers will be covering the event with recipes, profiles of producers and chefs.
Local food.
Schools, restaurants, pubs, organisations, families and communities are all being invited to take part by making a special effort during the fortnight to buy British food, ideally from local small producers.
Local producers like Ryton Organic Gardens and Shop in Ryton-On-Dunsmore in Coventry carry a wide range of organic produce including vegetables, fruit, dairy, meat, dried, frozen goods and bakery products.
