 | | Heaven Can Wait, showing at the Belgrade from the end of April marks the fateful day Wednesday 3 February 1959, a date on which Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper left music history forever. It was later known as The Day the Music Died.
Amy Elias, of the website team interviewed Jenny Winter, an actress in Heaven Can Wait about her role in the play.
Amy: What role do you play in Heaven Can Wait?
Jenny: I play the character Stella who is the bar owner, on an imaginary bar which is on the way to rock 'n' roll heaven.
A: How have the performances been going so far as you've toured round the country?
J: It's been going really well. The play [Heaven Can Wait] is an excellent play which is lifted by the songs. We rehearsed for fourweeks and will be at the Belgrade for one week. We've toured as far as north as Perth in Scotland and as far South as Brighton.
A: So who provides the music in the play?
J: The music is provided on stage by the cast themselves. The actors and actresses that perform in Heaven Can Wait are multi-talented and are trained in both music and acting.
A: How would you describe the production?
The production is a wonderful opportunity for people to see songs played live. It thoroughly enjoyable to see music played live rather than as just a tribute band.
