Nerve
Teleplay by Richard Manning
Directed by Rowan Woods

DID YOU NOTICE?

The episode title Nerve refers equally to Aeryn's condition (her paraphoral nerve is damaged) and Crichton's courage in infiltrating the secret Peacekeeper base.

The stolen ID card that Crichton uses to get onto this base includes every possible detail of its real owner, Larraq, right down to details of his DNA. But it doesn't include a photo, the one thing that would have got Crichton shot immediately.

How secret is this secret base? The first thing Commander Tollona Javio wanted to know was how Crichton even knew the base was there, but Scorpius didn't hesitate to transmit the base's location to Crais.

And how cut off is this base? Scorpius could be a travelling scientist who gets about more than the other people on the base, but it's still peculiar that he should know all about Moya. How much attention does he pay to shipping news anyway?

Inevitably, Crichton's memories as displayed by the Aurora chair tend to be vividly accurate images of things he can't have seen: such as the outside of his own ship or how Crais looks from over Crichton's own shoulder.

For the first time this episode featured whip-pan cuts between scenes, reminiscent of The Man from UNCLE.

Peacekeeper computers are wired together with 3.5mm jack plugs – the sort you get on the end of Walkman headphones.
