THRONE TO A LOSS
By Richard Manning
Directed by: Pino Amenta
DID YOU NOTICE?
This episode was about blood. Apart from Rygel's royal blood we learned that Zotoh Zhaan's real stuff is white and a powerful medicine a smear on her lips was enough to get the Tavlek boy over his cold turkey. No wonder she's so calm with all that running around her veins.
Most intriguingly of all, D'Argo's blood from a wound runs a deep dark red, almost black yet if it can be made worse, if more blood can be beaten out him, eventually it runs clear and somehow he survives.
Spot the symbolism at the end as Crichton throws down the gauntlet. Mind you, it was previously a big deal that you couldn't take it off at all.
The apparent goof at the end when Crichton throws off the previously unthrow-off-able gauntlet actually makes sense. He, Aeryn and D'Argo have each been less than frugal with it and the guantlet's just run out.
The entire propulsion system of Moya is dependent on a single red gem the size of a Kiwi fruit and there are no spares.
