REVIEW
This was the big opening episode to Farscape's second season and it had pace, action, clever ideas and a story that deftly gripped after last season's finale. It just might have been more impressive if the show had used its 'other' season 2 premier. (See 'Did You Notice?' for details.) The alternate episode, planned to run here until the last minute, would have ignored all the cliffhanger stories and taken us somewhere else – no doubt leaving us nicely frustrated over the fate of Crichton.
As it is, there was of course no surprise at all that Crichton and D'Argo would be rescued in the nick of time, but (as with the setup for this) it was irritating to see D'Argo surviving in the vacuum of space when he could have easily brought a spacesuit.
But rescuing them only to leave Crichton, D'Argo and Aeryn in trouble was smart, as was Aeryn's dealing with the devil by helping Crais. Farscape characters do not trust each other enough to assume that they're all doing the best thing, and that's excellent.
