I work on Sport bulletins and production for shows, which I occasionally present too!Ìý This means finding all the interesting snippets of local and National sport news, and marrying them into coherent scripts for myself and others.

I'm also one of the Newsroom's more prolific tea-makers/drinkers!

What's the most exciting/biggest news story you've ever covered?

For Cumbria, it was uncovering the truth behind Thomas Armstrong's withdrawal of Sponsorship to the Workington Comets. But working in Sport every day has the potential for new and exciting variety…Ìý Working on Saturdays, either in the studio or in the field, I'm around live sporting action.Ìý Fantastic!

Which famous/well-known people have you spoken to during your career?

Sir Bobby Robson, Trevor Brooking, Ray Stubbs, Phil Tuffnel, Brian Clough and of course, DEREK LACEY!

How did you get into radio?

Passionate interest in Sport...Ìý Led to a chance meeting with the boss at Radio Derby Sport, and my scoring the winning goal for Radio Derby as they beat their Nottingham counterparts in a charity football match!Ìý It was a sizzling 3-yarder!!!

Where was your first broadcast?

Alfreton Town FC, Unibond Premier Division, against Altrincham.

Where else have you worked?

Radio Derby – fantastic bunch of crazy people!

What other jobs have you done besides broadcasting?

Tesco, many bars and clubs during my university days, along with work for Sunderland University itself.

How long have you worked at ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Cumbria and why do you like it?

Since June '05.Ìý I firmly believe we live in the most beautiful county in the UK!

What are your local connections (if any)?

My Grandad was a chief draftsman on the Spadeadam project, and as such my father is a Brampton lad.Ìý They've all since moved to Derby, from where I hail.

What would you be if you weren't a journalist?

A film director in Hollywood!

What do you do when you're not broadcasting?

Watch worrying levels of sport, in a hobby verging on obsession!

Other interesting information?

Was destined for stardom, having spent 3 weeks in tights playing Joseph (...and the Technicolour Dream-Coat) while at Junior school!Ìý Something I'm still failing to live down...
