BlastYou are in: Cumbria > Blast > Blast diary - part seven - 06/09/07 Blast diary - part seven - 06/09/07By Lisa-Marie Ellwood I can't believe how many festivals there have been in Cumbria this year - there has been a different one held almost every week. I'll never complain that there's nothing to do ever again! I've only got one week left of my placement and I'm feeling sad - I don't want the festivals to stop - I've decided life should just be made into one big party! Mintfest - only the brave need attend! Latest storyThe latest event I have reported on is Mintfest - Kendal's first international street arts festival. I was actually really surprised to hear that acts from all around the world were visiting Kendal, many making their UK debut there. The festival was estimated to have attracted 11,000 visitors to Kendal and was a really promising start to what could become a key event in Cumbria every summer. Silloth Beer FestivalThis is where I'm heading tonight. The festival is held over four days in a giant marquee holding 1600 people and offers over 90 real ales and cider as well as a number of musical acts including headliners The Commitments. Unfortunately as I'm working I won't be able to sample the alcoholic refreshments for sale and so will be producing another entertainment review next week rather than a food and drinks one - now that would be a good job! I'm really looking forward to seeing The Commitments, however think that a Thursday is a bit of an odd night for the headliners to be performing on - I've got uni at 9 in the morning! last updated: 13/09/07 You are in: Cumbria > Blast > Blast diary - part seven - 06/09/07 Blast Message Boards - chill out and share your ideas.
