Paul's grey rendered cottage hides a secret - his studio. Here Paul creates pieces for his Cumbrian Blue(s), ceramic pieces that more often than not subvert the nature of pottery. Paul Scott Here you'll find old patterned plates with pictures of power stations or aeroplanes in the sky added to the original designs or 3D prints of cups and bowls on flat tiles. Today Paul is applying a transfer to a plate, commemorating the Hartlepool Ghost Ships that arrives from the USA a few years ago for dismantling. And this is one of the most satisfying parts of the process for Paul, as all the hard work's been done - the making of the actual transfer. Paul initially studied painting at college, but didn't get on with his painting tutor, so ended up in the ceramics studio, where he could work without people harassing him and it was here that he was inspired to create his work through painting or printing onto ceramics.
