Albums have a particular magic. As a reminder of a special time in our lives they are priceless. As a musical snapshot of our favourite artists at one special time they are essential. We only really get to know an artist by listening to their albums.

Richard Allinson revisits classic albums, celebrates the most successful and popular albums of all time and plays the very latest albums before they鈥檙e in the shops.

Richard - The facts

Star sign:听 Libra.

Born 'n' Bred:听 Lichfield, to a Scottish mother & English father.

First memory:听 Dad was working in Scotland and it would be three months before we moved house to join him. As we lived in Birmingham my first memory was him leaving home very early Monday and not returning 鈥榯il late Friday.

First record bought:听 Beatles 鈥淟ove Me Do鈥� for my third birthday.

First job:听 At Capital Radio.

Little known fact about yourself:听 I once spilled beer over Madonna!

Favourite food and drink:听 Roast chicken, Puligny-Montrachet or ham sandwich, Adnams Broadside.

Favourite place in the world:听 Ramatuelle, France.

Any pet hates:听 Queues, prejudice, toes.

What would your desert island luxury be:听 Clean sheets.

Most embarrassing radio moment:听 The Madonna moment's up there鈥�

Best radio moment:听 Closing the mic and still laughing.

Who would be your dream co-presenter:听 Someone guaranteed to make life easier.

If you weren鈥檛 a broadcaster what would you be:听 I rejected a career in law to do this so I鈥檓 probably unemployable!
