Filling up a car with petrol

Petrol and diesel prices are rising

Fuel prices: Your experiences

The high price of fuel is hitting drivers hard. We want to hear what it's like for you.

Oil prices have hit record highs above $139 a barrel and have more than doubled in less than a year.

Can you still afford to drive?

That's having a knock-on effect on fuel prices and drivers in the UK are starting to feel the pinch at the pumps.

Household energy bills are also going up. It's predicted they could increase by as much as 40% this winter as oil and wholesale gas prices continue to rise.

That could mean households paying 拢400 more a year on average for their gas and electricity, senior industry sources have said.

How is it for you?

On Thursday 26 June the 大象传媒 will be broadcasting a series of special reports across the UK on the impact of rising fuel prices on our lives.

The 大象传媒 in the Cumbria wants to know how the rising cost of fuel is affecting you.听

Comments so far

I now think twice before travelling out of my vicinity at weekends.听 I tend to stay put and shop locally which is great news for the local economy!听 I hate to admit it but it is also good news for the environment (albeit begrudged)!听 Having said all that, I definitely won't stop driving during the week due to school and work commitments but I can definitely see a change in my attitude to "weekend" outings.

Unfortunately its getting to the stage now where I am contemplating looking for a lower paid job within cycling/walking distance. At the moment, its just feels like we are being continually squeezed. I know its not life or death, but I now regularly pay over 拢3 for a pint of lager! Good that it has stopped any chance of me drinking & driving, who could afford that!

I am contemplating 0pening up my fireplace,And going back to an open fire.
Also give up my job and stay at home, can not afford petrol prices.
