It's hard to believe it's now ten years since Derby County played their first match at Pride Park stadium. The Queen opens Pride Park Stadium The club moved to its current home in 1997 after the decision was made to relocate from its old home at the Baseball Ground. The chairman at the time, Lionel Pickering, admitted it was a tough but necessary decision and this seemed to be borne out when Derby's first season in their new home produced some of the finest Rams football in the past 20 years. Artist's impression of Pride Plaza Having survived some miserable times following the team's relegation to the Championship, the good times seem to have returned to the stadium with Premier League football making most games a sell-out. Now there are plans to develop a plaza area around the stadium over the next few years. And current chairman Peter Gadsby has even spoken of increasing the stadium's capacity if Derby establish themselves in the top flight once again.
