Efforts to establish Derby's The Venue as a major player continue with another big name signing for the new year.

Indie three-piece Young Knives (they've decided to drop the 'The' from their name!) are playing there on Thursday, 20th March 2008.

The group hail from Ashby-De-La-Zouch, have had three top 40 hit singles and saw their debut album 'Voices of Animals and Men' nominated for a prestigious Mercury Music Prize.

Their new tour will include songs from the follow-up 'Superabundance' which also gets released in March.

Tickets cost 拢10.50 and can be bought from the venue itself or through the Derby Tickets website.

Other bands lined up for gigs at The Venue include The Nova Saints, Royworld, Brigade and The Pistolas.
