He will be covering some of Derbyshire's untold sporting stories. Ben, aged 18 from Belper will be working with 大象传媒 Derby this summer. His focus is on sport and he specialises in hockey and cricket. Amongst other stories Ben will be doing a project on the 2012 London Olympics. Ben has vast experience from a wide range of sporting roles which he will look to draw on as he roams the county's sporting locations over the next few months. He has previously played, officiated, coached and organised in numerous sports from beginners through to umpiring and playing in National finals. Ben's particular interest is in grass roots sport and its role within the community. He hopes to take a different angle on sport and report on some of the unsung heroes and achievers within minority sports. Aged 18, Ben has just finished his A-Levels and like his peers is nervously anticipating results day in a few weeks time. He sees his Blast placement as a great way to start his gap year before going to university in September 2009.
