He is hopeful this will assist him to develop further and eventually play the game professionally. Craig started playing Golf aged ten when his dad took him along to the local club at Ashbourne. Since then he's never looked back and is now playing alongside senior golfers in the Derbyshire second team. His proudest achievement to date is winning both the Derbyshire Boys Matchplay and Derbyshire Boys Order of Merit in 2007. This saw him gain England trials, he hopes to kick on and force his way into the England squad in the near future. Playing off a handicap of just two Craig is able to compete as an equal alongside adults. He says competing in the county team with and against people much older than him does not phase him as "they're not much better to be honest." last updated: 11/08/2008 at 16:05 You are in: Derby > Blast > Craig looks to make it big in the world of Golf |
