What's the name of your band and where do you come from?

Menyne Gate - hailing from Derby. We have been together since Feb 2008. The rhythm section previously formed half the now defunct band Psycho Ward

What do you sound like?

Sisters of Mercy, Iron Maiden, Joy Division, Black Sabbath, anyone else whoever played a power chord (joking).

Who are your influences?

Iron Maiden, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Metallica, Monster Magnet, Korn and even Bootsy Collins.

Tell us about some of your best songs...

Take You There is written about trying to convince a girl to trust him and he'll show her the time of her life.

Whiskey & Wimmin is about partying and having a good time. Its anthemic chorus reflects the desires of a guy ready to hit the tiles.

Staring Back at the Sun was written in memory of our lead singers father. Dearly missed.

Our name comes from a war memorial to fallen soldiers from WWI in Belgium, the Menin Gate.

After playing gigs in Derby and Coalville over the summer of 2008 we went into the studio in September to record our debut EP which was launched on Friday, 17th October.
