What's the name of your band and where do you come from?

We are The Hard Luck Saints, a 4-piece rock 'n' roll band based in Derby, although only one of us is actually from the area originally - the other three are from South Wales, London and Leicester.

What do you sound like?

We're underdogs playing the underdog's music and we wouldn't have it any other way. We play upbeat, in-your-face, good-time rock 'n' roll and we play hard, our love for the music and what we do coming through in both our recordings and live performances.

Who are your influences?

Influences include beer and whiskey (alcohol in general, basically), women, rock n' roll, life, love and all the other important stuff.

Music-wise, our influences come from bands such as Guns n'Roses, AC/DC, Motorhead, The Supersuckers, Aerosmith, Buckcherry, Danko Jones, The Rolling Stones, etc.

Tell us about some of your best songs...

This is going to sound lame, but we really do spend as much time crafting and fine-tuning one song as another, and as such there aren't any particular favourites within the band.

However, when it comes to other peoples' reaction, songs such as 'You Don't Want Love', 'Tuesday Is The New Friday' and 'Evil Genius' - all three of which feature on our debut EP, 'Life, Death, Sex and Whiskey' - have always been favourites among our fans.

Where can people watch you play live?

We've been gigging in Derby and the Midlands area for the last 18 months and have recently started looking further afield, with gigs in London and the south as well as other parts of the country.

We just want to play anywhere that people want to hear some rock 'n' roll and will appreciate the kind of music we play.
