Believe
it or not there are over 50 languages spoken in Plymouth's schools.
It's a good indication that there are now many different cultures
and religions in our local community.
In
response to this Plymouth schools have teamed up with the local
racial equality council to produce a colourful new calendar.

Jade
Leek from Glen Park Primary painted this Jain symbol. |
Each
of the 12 schools involved in the project has produced an image
from a different faith or culture.
Julie
Padget from the Race Equality Council was delighted with the contribution
from the schools.
She
said "The feedback was very positive. All the children that
took part seemed really keen to get involved in similar projects
in the future."
