She works alongside Kirstin Neilson-Hunter, James Watts and Matt Bown - together they help keep Devon on the move. Morwenna joined the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Devon team in Spring 2006 and can often be heard presenting the weekday morning travel bulletins. Devon born and bred, she grew up on the edge of Dartmoor and now lives in a rural village with her husband and two children. She says she 'really wouldn't want to live anywhere else'. She thoroughly enjoys providing travel information for the station along with the rest of the Radio Devon travel team. Morwenna loves living in Devon "I know how vital travel is to the majority of people here in the South West," said Morwenna. "So many livelihoods depend upon being able to get from A to B with the minimal disruption to your journey." Mornings are a very busy time for Morwenna.ÌýWhether it's keeping the South West up to date with the latest on Devon and Cornwall's roads or keeping Gordon Sparks in order on the Plymouth Breakfast Show, there's always something going on. Apart from information gleaned from the police, Highways Agency, airports, ferry and rail operators, she says it's Radio Devon's listeners that are crucial to the success of a travel bulletin. "We build up a wonderful rapport with our many and varied callers – we always appreciate a call. You just can't beat hearing the latest about a traffic problem from someone who is actually on the scene." Although she doesn’t have a lot of time for hobbies these days, Morwenna is a keen fiddle player and says there's nothing finer than a good jam session in a local pub as a method of relaxation! last updated: 23/07/07 You are in: Devon > ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Devon > Who's On Air? > Morwenna Hortop |
