This film, which is mostly without sound, shows the construction of the Tamar road bridge. The clip opens with footage of workmen constructing the two concrete towers; Brunel's railway bridge is seen in the background.听 There is footage of an elderly couple watching the construction. Barges and hoists are shown lifting sections of the bridge into position. As the bridge nears completion the road surface is laid, toll booths installed and new road signs put up. There is a short sequence showing the bridge being officially opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother on 26th April 1962.
