The mighty Fall often get played lots on the Freak Zone, possibly due to the fact they have quite a back-catalogue. So...what are the fave songs of fans of Mark E Smith and whoever's in the band this week?

I just have a hate relationship. Mark E Smith shouting doesn't do anything for me. Sorry.
^_^
MES can be hard work and has often gone through phases of releasing half a fine LP and half a bunch of chuff (especially in the mid to late 90's...), but I always come back to The Fall. Even after that terrible autobiography...
Having said that, it would be nice to hear something from The Blue Orchids, including twice-time member Martin Bramah and one-time member Una Baines. 'The Greatest Hit (Money Mountain)' sounds like a psyched-relative of The Fall, with songs as strong as the Hex Enduction Hour: Dumb Magician, Sun Connection, A Year with No Head, Bad Education, Wait, The Flood...and so on...
He's shouted over some great things though!
"Edinburgh Man" certainly, but also "Shift Work" and the musically uncategorisable "The Mixer" (does anyone know what that's about?) from the same album. And, as it has apparently become the run-up to Xmas, why not inoculate yourself before going to the High Street stores by listening to "Xmas with Simon", which is quintessential MES vocalising (phrasing, sardonic comic timing etc)

@ Themixer Lol! I guess. I couldn't hear over all the shouting. I find his stuff about appealing as I do anything that Mr Happy Mondays has had a hand in. I just don't enjoy their delivery.
The only track I have with MES on is an Inspiral Carpets track he shouted over but I can't remember its name... Half a mo...
Oh yeah it was called I Want You. I do tend to skip that one more than any of the others...
^_^
Have you guys seen that video on YouTube of Mark E. Smith reading the football results? It's really, really funny.

Chicago Now
Frenz
Carrier Bag Man
New Face in Hell
Repetition
Last orders
I could go on.

Behind the counter
M5
Paranoid Man in Cheap Shit Room

The biography was weird - I was expecting a knowing, funny, wry, written desecration of the modern world, but instead gradually came to realise that he is a bitter, confused drunk who perhaps shouldn't be humoured to the extent that he is.
