Sorry, Mr M, I can't remember any specific music. I never knew the name of it.

However that's why I love Belbury Poly, cos to me it's all just Music for Schools and 'Here are some pages from Ceefax'

I have the Girl in a Suitcase double CD. Sadly it's all before my time...

But have been loving what's on with the Prof tonight...

    ^_^

To put two topics of tonight show together Nick Drake did a schools educational record called Interplay One on the Longman Label.Where he played guitar it's very rare though.

If we're just talking favourite TV Themes of our youth, then mine would be Cities of Gold and The Tripods.

I do have quite a few old themes tunes and TV idents as the individual ring tones on my phone. The TV Cream Website used to have loads on it, but they took them all down awhile ago. Thankfully after I got what I was looking for.

I do have the theme to something called Into the Labyrinth. I never saw the program, but the music is really haunting and creepy. That would surely be a good one for the Zone.

Jedi's Paradise has the intro sequence to Into the Labyrinth here:

I think that Animes have some of the best, most memorable theme songs and incidental music.

    My favourite being:

    Mysterious Cities of Gold
    Ulysses 31
    Pokemon
    Gatchaman

Since you sent me racing back through my collection, last night I remembered another one.

Mister Rossi was about a man and his dog who travelled through time - at least I think he did. I don't remember what was going on. Nevertheless he had strange Psychedelic adventures. The theme tune is really catchy. You can listen to it here:

    It's really groovy.

Ooh! Theres a video clip in the original italian here:

Oh god I wish I could see that again! Looking at the clips it's just what I need! Was it you in your RT column, Mr M, who said get people talking about children's TV helps you work out their age? Fine in theory, but I discovered Mister Rossi in the 90s, not the 60s...

When I heard the name of the Roger Roger Ensemble who did that schools programme music with the harpsichord and the ondes martinet (?), I thought - they didn't have a taxi service too, surely?

But I did remember that tune from my schooldays, and when I was off sick!

Wasn't there a school's programme that used the opening 'ticking' music from Floyd's 'Time'?

I remember really liking the music, and only finding out a couple of years later where it came from.
