Although Dr Feelgood may not inhabit Freakzone central I did go and see the film 'Oil City Confidential' about them. It included a short clip from the Whistle Test announced as Pilgrim's Progress, could be the band could be the track. It was a near perfect example of what we lived through pre-punk. Anyone know anything about the band/track?

Hi Jess, I've not seen the film but would like to. Dr Feelgood were one of the first bands I ever saw live and it remains etched in the memory. When Gang of Four were doing their recent comeback tour, Andy Gill was citing Feelgood as a seminal influence which at first surprised me but led me to go back and check some of the early stuff again including their own Whistle Test appearance. I think you can really hear the influence of Wilco on Gill here:

In terms of Pilgrim's Progress, I wonder if it was Greenslade?
