The freak zone has been reduced to an hour and a half tomorrow, is this a one off? It was bad enough that they took the half hour away.
Hey, you're right. It is still 2 1/2 hours in Radio Times, and the playlist looks as long as a typical week, with room for the Prof, an interview, Live Freaks and a featured album.
Does anyone know what's going on here?
Hang on ... The link to the 19:00 programme goes to Radio 2! I think (hope) it's just a web site error. The programme is on the Radio 2 web page as well.
Here we go. This is Thomson et.al. beginning the slow painful run down of 6 Music before the consultation is over. This is very worrying. First Bruce Dickinson, now FZ. This must be part of the efforts to get 6Music listeners to move over the Radio 2 in future. I'll just turn off.
All seems present and correct on this Sunday's playlist. However, I do get the feeling that the Freak Zone is now very much a sitting duck, since the decision was made to axe the The Rock Show.
afraid have to agree with Rob Nickson
I have just submitted a complaint to the ´óÏó´«Ã½ using their on line complaints procedure. I am promised a responce within 10 days. Search for Complaints on the main ´óÏó´«Ã½ wedsite. Yet again the ´óÏó´«Ã½ show little respect to those people who pay their wages.
29 past 19 Freak Zone is playing it must be just a web site error
seems to be 2.5 hours tonight
what other programmes would you get Cluster, Ergo and Aphex Twin?
if they cut this show I'll do summat really bad
It may or may not have been 150 minutes, but having just got home from work the listen again is only 90 minutes long.
Not only is the advertised replacement for the last hour a simulcast with radio 2, but it's a REPEAT as well.
One of the few genuinely unique shows that the ´óÏó´«Ã½ produces, and we gert a repeat of a radio 2 show from November last year - I'm incensed!
I may have been more drunk than usual last night but I'm pretty sure I turned the radio on at 5.30pm and listened to the Freak Show until 8pm as usual.
Listen Again is definitely screwed up. Maybe the recording process is keyed to the web site timings, which fooled it into stopping at 19:00 with the misplaced Radio 2 listing.
The programme broadcast on Sunday was complete.
Have just had my listen again experience stopped after 90 minutes. Where's the final hour? I wanted to listen to the Cluster stuff. Oy, beeb, sort it out!!
I've just checked my recording of the show - made via a Freeview USB tuner on my PC from the Crystal Palace transmitter - and it appears to be a 2.5 hour programme.
Same 2.5 hours recorded from DAB.
It appears that the show might well have run for 150 minutes, as the listen again stopped half way through the eRgo track...

Now come on you lot and have a look outside ... How long do you think it takes to post one of these messages?
Trinoc,
Well clearly a lot longer than it takes to read the new 6m programme schedule ...

Listen again now has the whole show
I am wondering whether I should cease listening to the Freak Zone - reduced for a 2nd time (which doesn't bode well for longer tracks) and messed around in some pathetic rebrand/deliberate act to lose any audience. I might very well be up when the Freakier Zone is on, but I won't be listening to the radio. Sunday Evenings is Freak Zone time!
I'm not sure what you would achieve by stopping listening to the programme. Surely turning people off listening to 6music is exactly what the ´óÏó´«Ã½ wants, though they have had the exact opposite effect of drawing the attention of a lot of people who had never listened to it before.
We should be even more determined than before to make sure the ´óÏó´«Ã½ knows the station has an important listener base. They think they can ignore the wishes of rock music fans in a way they would never dream of doing for the listeners to Radio 3.
Well R3 has no competition - CFM is pitiful. 6m's daytime output meanwhile is hardly distinctive ...
