Saw Jah Wobble's Japanese Dub tour this week and it was excellent. Have never heard anyone get a bass sound like Wobble which you feel moving up through the feet and vibrating through the whole body. Set included some live Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging)which was a first and transformed the space into a Japanese shrine.
Anyway Wobble paid tribute to trumpet player Harry Beckett who passed away last week. He was one of those guys who popped up in a huge number of contexts: Graham Collier, Brotherhood of Breath, Stan Tracey, Ray Russell, David Sylvian, Robert Wyatt, Evan Parker & Wobble.
RIP Harry
