Supersonic 2011

  Like last year it's on in October and I guess more names to come. I shall definitely go for one day at the very least...I'd like to see Bardo Pond and White Hills the most from the line-up as it is.
  
  Having said that, I went on just the Sunday last year and it was a bit of an ordeal. Master Musicians of Buketc weren't as good as the previous year, though Mothlite were not uninteresting and Michael Rother's Neu!-trio were excellent. But Chrome Hoof gargled the proverbial, James Blackshaw was too John Williams, and SWANS was a bit of a trial and scared off my accomplice that night. Watching Gira and co play intensely loud and epic songs in a room like a slaughterhouse - the temperature was below freezing - in a sober state reminded me that Supersonic was better when it was on in the summer.
  
  Still, far more eclectic and freaky than The Big Chill. I was hoping they'd have someone like Six Organs of Admittance, who were great at a previous Capsule show at the Town Hall in Birmingham...
