I enjoyed the The Third Man aspect to Clive’s hitchhiking.
Back to the hostel on Thursday, too in time for the next eppy, great.

Clive did much better than Clarrie and her delivery driver lift in getting a ride from Matt. Two ex jailbirds together and its always good to hear Matt

I also liked the talking to themselves and thinking out loud aspect. I like a one sided bit of muttering. And, a mention of Eddies gnomes, too. Whats not to like.

Sadly he hasn't set fire to anything yet ...

Perhaps he will help Lynda with the Xmas production, like he did on a previous visit?

What's not to like - that to post on the main board we now have to remember our souces for any information about Ambridge or be accused of spoiling.

Which is why I wanted it to be all at Ruairi's school or all with Ambridge commuters who dont interact with the rest of the village.

But Im interested in the thinking thing. Maybe they could deal with the texting issue . Sherlock (on TV) did.

I'll keep asking this in the hope someone knows and answers.

How old is Clive? I always assumed he was older than Susan or around her age, when I heard she was jailed for helping him hide cos she was so scared of him, but he only sounds young, like he's in his 20's, which presumably he isn't, as Susan is 48 next week.
But he just sounds .... young!

So anyone know how old he is?

Let's hope Alistair forgot a dead bolt somewhere and try as hard as he might Clive still manages to gets in and tries to set light to anything they've got left after paying off Alistair's gambling debts and any other habits he's had to pay for.

P'raps he's been in the prison choir and can now sings like an angel ready for the singalongaAmbridge Chistmas special.

Time for them all to check out any certification dates on fire fighting equipment they may or may not have at home.

My lips are sealed and my memory short.

Oh, yes the Sherlock texting was an interesting aspect. P'raps they could have a special /noise/ to precede thought bubbles in AE..

This could all go two ways - either Cloive is a reformed character as a result of therapy received in prison, and Matt will help him continue on the straight and narrow, or, Cloive will release his obvious inner rage very soon and Matt will be able to use him for the rough stuff in throwing Elona and Co out of 3 The Green.

    I hope the latter.

Course, if Matt appears in TA in the next 3 months, he can't ever mention knowing Clive and we're supposed to forget that he, Alistair and Susan all know he's back again.
So he can't be used in anyway to do with something going on in TA involving Ilona and clan and Peg and 3 The Green, can he?

Dear dear, I foresee more of those crossing over problems again! lol

I found AE refreshing, to be able to much like both Matt and Clive start with a clean sheet (?) in having no boundaries to imagination as to where the plot could go and won't mind either of your suggestions.
It was a tad dark and moody which I enjoyed so while either scenario would be good I'd also like scenario b. If Clive is tagged then they might have to split any evil deeds by distance.
But then again just having Matt pick up a hitchhiker at night makes me thing it could be a.

I'm confused - wasn't there much discussion about whether or not to invite Clive to Chris & Alice's wedding party last year ? But now it seems he has only been released recently.

This apart, I do enjoy AmEx as another dimension to the programme.

Revenge for the "I'm related to a Horrobin" comment?

Which Alice she couldn't have heard, of course.
