I thought the schools in Borsetshire were comprehensive? So far as I know, grammar schools exist only in N Yorkshire, Kent and Bucks, but now we are hearing about the Royal Grammar School in Felpersham. If it is a private school, aren't there enough of those already with the Frillies having taken exams for the Cathedral School, Felpersham Boys and St Margaret's?
Where do the ordinary kids of Felpersham go to school?
I would imagine the Royal Grammar School is a private school. It might be on the other side of the country from Ambridge. If this young woman is 17 she may have her licence and a car, which would make it easier to get to school a long way from school and off the bus routes.
County! Not country.
Why do these things always stand out a mile just after you hit post?

There are a few left in Gloucestershire, too, so there maybe in Borchester too.
OTOH Worcester RGS is a private school, that's more likely I think.
RGS Lancaster? RGS Newcastle? RGS High Wycombe? RGS Worcester
Erm........shall I go on?

scat - the schools of Borsetshire are a confused mess, which have been discussed at great length.
The title "Grammar School" is not restricted to segregated state education.
There are private sector "Grammar School"s
And comprehensive "Grammar School"s.
Indeed most Grammar Schools had a comprehensive intake until as little as 100 years ago.
