...taking over the consultation between farmer and vet like that!
Very cool and confident young lady. I'd have told her to belt up - I'm sure Alistair has been coping with Mr Purvises for years and will have to cope with them in the future, without the aid of superstudent.
I couldn't believe how she behaved. If I was Alastair, I would have told her very firmly where she stood in the pecking order, and I most certainly would not have taken her on my rounds again. If I had been the farmer, I would have told her to mind her own business.
agreed, if he wasn't happy about what Alistair (a qualified vet) was telling him, I doubt he'd be impressed about a young girl has to say - as far as I can tell she only wants to be a vet cos baby pigs are sooooo sweeet
/puke
A farmer liking the company of a pretty young woman as opposed to a middle-aged man is hardly any comment on Erin's effectiveness as a vet. I thought that Alistair was just a bit too impressed by her getting them a cup of tea.

It made me cringe big time.

I think the idea was that Erin had `people skills' which were lacking with Alastair
JPBS
I don't think he would be as popular a vet as he is, if he did not also have "people skills."
They'd all go to the Borchester vet where Steve, the Specialist Cow Vet that Shady Sam insisted on when Brookfield "sacked" Alibear.
But what was good people skills about interfering in a professional's discussion with a client? It sounded as though she thought that there was going to be a fight, and she had to stop it.

She would have learnt a lot more by watching how an experienced vet deals with a stroppy client.

Agreed, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Imagine Usha's reaction if Daniel intervened with a stroppy client like that.
