Old male scriptwriters porno.
And we are not allowed to tell 'em on DTA that AMEX is now a porno channel..
Any point in complaining to the Controller of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Rafoex?
Or suggesting getting decent female scriptwriters?
This is beyond reasonable radio.
If you're referring to the Daniel/Erin scene, then I thought it was quite nauseating.
I really do not want to hear the thoughts of a teenage boy as he inexpertly plots the seduction of his girlfriend. I know that TA is sometimes criticised for its "sex" scenes, but I'd so much rather use my imagination and not have all Daniel's not particularly rivetting thoughts set out for my "entertainment".

He will put up with a broken heart to get a notched headboard.
As would any male.

I think the ´óÏó´«Ã½ switchboard would have melted by now if the epi had been on R4 at 7.02, rather than R4extra with two men and a dog listening.
I thought it was not bad, in its own way...more convincing than most steamy scenes in TA!

I think it's a danger that a realistic depiction of the thoughts of a teenage boy are going to cross a line with some people.
But I didn't think it was that bad - and as people have noted above, it was totally Erin that engineered this situation - Daniel was realistically unsure of what he was allowed to do, it was Erin who was saying "put your hand back there!"
So, a bit of heavy breathing and heavy petting is pornographic now, according to some?
>Old male scriptwriters<
Sexist! Some people would CATP you for less, and if the roles had been reversed there would be (female) howls of protest.
>suggesting getting decent female scriptwriters<
even more sexist!
>He will put up with a broken heart to get a notched headboard.

only if your a mug
Pretty nauseating scene, lot less bad than we've heard on TA, but porno? I don't see how you get that

Old male scriptwriters porno. Â Not so much disgusting as embarrassingly puerile and Daniel's "asides" made it even worse. More to the point, was it really necessary to the storyline - I don't think so. The ratings must be slipping if the SW's are coming up with developments like this.
It's the asides which I dislike the most in this season's offering. They treat us like idiots who are entirely unable to work out what's going on without them, and made a scene which could have been decent into something that was quite embarrassing to listen to.
Last season's youth interest, including Jamie and his girlfriend - what happened to them, by the way? - was much better handled.

Judith, it's horses for courses I think. I am enjoying the thought bubbles in this run of AmEx, *because* I know it's not permanent. I wouldn't want it on TA proper.
It offers us something a little bit different, more afternoon play-like, and that's what I like about AmEx, it provides a space for experimentation within the confines of the enclave and the character list. As Daniel is finding out.......he'd never have got this far without AmEx!

I like the asides, too, ermintrude. We've had the occasional soliloquy on TA (Brian had some good voice-to-listener moments in the Siobhan days); and they've tried some more experimental sequences with phone conversations, but it's nice, imo, to let it all run on a bit. I also enjoyed Shula's brief memory of her own glory days!

I'm still trying to work out where his hand actually was. You would think that with so much thought gushing out we we would know the exact seamy details. But maybe the problem is Daniel and that he doesn't know where his hand is. Perhaps never in the history of broadcasting have they revealed so much without getting to the point and for such a pointless payoff. Cut it out I say - that is the pointless utterances of silent thoughts. We can stand the groping in the bedroom but not the inane internal chatter of ... well .... the inane.

I enjoy it all - the thought bubbles and the teenage awkwardness of Daniel trying to connect with Erin. Somewhat concerned that Alastair's thoughts may be heading in the same direction.

I'm still trying to work out where his hand actually was. He "mindsaid" he was moving his hand up her legs, presumably towards her crotch.

Are you implying that Dan and Clive have something in common?
presumably towards her crotch. Â
Well, I was assuming bottom. But, no, even with our access to Daniel's thought it wasn't precisely clear.

To the pure, all things are pure?
I doubt if it was that clear to Dan. He knew his objective, but was open to guidance as to the route and the rate of progress.
You are all mad.
Enjoy.

Enough of the voyeuristic grouting.
The Clive/Matt scenario was FAR more interesting.

But look at it this way... At least this story thread made a change from the 'Crime-riddled Little Chicago' which the assorted 'Yoof' of Ambridge seem to be set on turning the place into.
Yes we know it's very badly written, produced and acted. But it's so bad, it's completely hilarious.
I'd like some indication that our comments about the Daniel/Erin episode (has it got a name yet) are being read by the production team. If this is the way Amex is going to continue they should at least know what the listeners think. That sounds very pompous I know but Im guessing there's a male/female divide about the appropriateness of it.

If you want Tayler to take it up probably best to alert her in N&Q.
What is it you dislike? The fact of a sex scene or the way it is being done?

I wish we had. They're both of them deeply unpleasant people who think that rules are there to be broken and other people exist to be exploited.
There may just be a small corner of Matt that cares about Fagash, but I have given up the effort of looking for redeeming features in Clive. Hell, he makes me feel sorry for Radio.

Surely not twice running?
I'm expecting
"Oh Dan, oh Dan, OH DAN"
"You're SOO big. Wait till I tell everyone at school that you're twice the man Rafe is where it really matters to a girl"
"You're almost as big as your step-dad"

Good idea to try N&Q, Careen.
I didn't mind it - I was certainly surprised by it and doubt it would have got anywhere near proper TA, but as a 'not-quite-sex scene' between two teenagers it was pretty well done, I thought. Miles better than Sid & Jolene fumbling with the loofah, if you ask me.
>You're almost as big as your step-dad<
Ha ha, that would be brilliant! Ty OI
