Well except Erin perhaps and possibly Clive. But who cares about them?

How more unsatisfactory and artificial can you get.

It never really took off, worse than the first attempt I thought, and the denouement was rushed, and depended on people talking to each other and changing their minds, which is against all the soap opera conventions. No more thought bubbles please, good writing shouldn't need it.

Disagree completely - I thought series 2 was great, 2 very involving storylines and one that didn't quite catch, but was settled satisfactorily.

I hope Daniel's kept the receipts, though.

I heard someone on TA say 'Alistair's good at keeping secrets' which I presume was a SW in-joke mocking the 'No Am-ex in TA' brigade

Always going to be that way if AmEx can't have any cross-over into TA. Just supposing Dan had refused to be reconcilied with Alistair and moved out of The Stables and in with his Grandfather, there would have come a point when Susan would have mentioned seeing him coming and going to and from Jim's. Christine might have had something to say about Dan's presence putting the brakes on her love life as well. All this would inevitably lead to the AmEx SL being revealed in TA and a surfeit of "AmEx must not infect TA" threads in DTA.
Best not go there so all issues have to be resolved within AmEx with no ongoing consequences.

Yes, you've hit the nail on the head. I was expecting that people like Mollie B could be developed into characters who could then cross over, instead we got the usual far-fetched soap plots, with the' mother in prison' shock story ludicrous, and Matt and Cloive handled clumsily. Dan/Erin did work for a short time but petered out. Judging by the lukewarm response on the message board, I presume that is the last we'll hear of Am Ex, which did at least manage the unloikely feat of finding a worse version of the theme tune than the original.

All far too neat which just goes to prove how misconceived the whole concept is. I wasn't convinced of the innocence of Ali's replies to the texts he received from Erin. Shula might just have been desperate enough to want to believe it but I can't understand how Dan was persuaded so easily. And the final scenes, set in the future at the NYE ball were both trite and tripe.

Please VW & co, no more of the divisive AmExecrable; an a experiment that plainly cannot and does not work. (Whilst I'm at it, no more 'Brian's pervy holiday' episodes either. Lord knows why this demeaning - to all concerned - ill concerned tripe was allowed to see the light of day.)

That said, I enjoyed the Wurzelish version of Barwick Green and would like to hear some other versions; how about drum and bass/heavy metal or mariachi versions?

Then you cannot have heard the episodes in which he sent the texts. Once he realised what she seemed to be up to he became very cautious and careful in his words.

I never delete texts until forced to.

Pity Dan did not get a farewell swive.

    WE WANT MORE AMEX

    PERMANENT AMEX

    DAILY AMEX.
