I'm assuming, having listened to more (cos I had no idea at the start who they were), that the woman is Kenton's ex-wife. and Aiden her husband.

Wonder if Kenton ever got a word in edgeways when he was married to her? She never shuts up!

What an irritating couple they both are! They voices and the way they talk have given me a headache!

Tho the ex-wife's (was her name mentioned? I didn't hear it) description of Kenton is at least consistent. He hasn't changed by the sound of it!
Can't take responsibility if he considers it a heavy burden so does a runner!
Luckily he has no such worries with Jolene seeing as he's more or less living off her!

So Merryhell calls her Dad by his first name?

Ruairi calls Jennifer by her first name.

Guess it depends on how old Meriel was when Mel and Aiden got together, and what their relationship has been like. Debbie sometimes refers to Brian - usually when she's angry with him - and sometimes to Dad.

    DOES it suppose that?

Jenny is not related in any way to Rouri.

Kenton is Merryhell's biological father, isn't he?

And Debbie is about 40! Not the same as an 11 year old.
I've never actually heard Debbie call Brian 'Dad' in the years I've listened.
If she has, since 2006, I've missed it! She always calls him Brian when I've listened. I just assumed she did what Adam did.

Did we hear Merryhell call Aiden 'Dad'?

It was a funny start today/ It was like starting a 30 minutes programme halfway through when it was assumed everyone knew who everyone was and what the situation was with everyone!

Makes sense. She almost certainly calls Aiden "Dad" as he is the only Dad she grew up with, and has always heard Kenton referred to as such. It's not like Pebble with Kate and Hilly.

    Pebble with Kate and Hilly?

What the heck does that mean?!

And it still sounds odd to me that an 11 year old calls her Dad by his first name.

She could do what Pheebs does with Kate and Hayley - call them both Dad.

He's been far less of a dad to her than Kate has been a mum to Phoebe. He couldn't even be bothered to spend time with her in Ambridge.

Have just LA'd, and this time concentrated! My apologies, Toffee - I had been mishearing it.

The child-from-hell refers to her father as Kenton & to Aiden as Aiden. Given that she was only 4 when Mel got together with Aiden, and they've been together for 7 years, I /am/ surprised she does not refer to Aiden as Dad, or some other familiar form. And no, I'm not surprised she doesn't have the warmest of relationships with Kenton!

    Other -

Phoebe calls both Kate & Hayley "mummy" but refers to them as "mummy Kate" and "mummy Hayley" (Pebble & Hilly are OI's unique terms for Pheobe & Hayley - or at least I've never seen anyone else use those nicknames).

Debbie most recently called Brian "Dad" until her explosion with him about Ruairi and Siobhan, since when he has been "Brian". Don't forget that even though he was not her father, he was to all intents & purposes, her Dad - she was born December 1970, while Jenny & Brian got together in 1975 and were married in 1976.

You seem to have worked it out anyway, as you then say

MG - All are welcome to use Pebble. "Hilly" was a typo. Meant to say "Haily"

On reflection, the SWs doubtless had the child use given names to help listeners to identify the characters., A reasonable dramatic license?

    Quite reasonable, OI.

Mind you by the time they all got to the rock face I was rather praying that that precocious & objectionable brat would find that in the middle of her crowing, boasting & showing off she had failed to secure her own harness properly, and so fall from a fatally high point during the climb.

Kenton will do something heroic in the yacht - perhaps saving her after she does some bad.

Aww, I was hoping he was going to drown. I'm no great believer in coincidence but Jolene losing 2 partners whilst on holiday in NZ would have been ok with me.

Trouble is that TA have done the "falling to a bloody death from a considerable height" SL fairly recently. I can't remember the exact circumstances.
