Just thought I'd start a cheerful post to try and lighten all the gloom and doom in here today!
O/H and I went with 2 friends (with many thanks again to Sharpers for the tickets) to the Brighton recording last night. Anyone else there?
Guest was Jack Dee. It was all as good as always and in the second programme the Archers got a mention! Compulsory listening for all I think!

Sounds good, Pippa!
I went along to a couple of recordings in 1987; sadly, Willie Rushton was otherwise engaged, but his seat was taken by (a very young) Stephen Fry.
Hi Peet
Gosh that was a long time ago! We only went for the first time about 3 years ago. Good night out - just sorry I missed to arrival party here! Had a good time the night before at the farewell bashes.

Pippa,
Can you answer me something I've always wanted to know. Is there really a Samantha, and what does she look like?
Thanks
mvg,
LF
I'm not allowed to talk about that, but it may be a clue that the "Laser display board" (Yes, they had it back in 1987!) is a large piece of corrugated cardboard obviously ripped from the side of a packing crate, written on with black marker pen. ;D
I wondered if it was a secret, like whodunnit in the Mousetrap. Oh well.
Always suspected the laser display board was something like that.
I never managed to get tickets when it came to Edinburgh for the Fringe - they always vanished like snow off a dyke (are we allowed to say dyke in here?).
Thanks
mvg,
LF

Hi Pippa
Great fun wasn't it. Samantha looked nothing like I had imagined, and I don't think that I can think of Christopher Biggins in quite the same light again! And wasn't Jack's singing delightful....

Hi Pippa!
I'm glad to hear it was a good night - did you get vox-popped again? I guess the comments they were collecting in London will turn up either directly before the broadcasts of the new series, or dare I mention the possibility of trailers?

Glad you had a good time, Pippa, when are the broadcast dates? Have your friends been converted to devoted listening by the experience?

The first time I went the friend I was with said Samanthat looked exactly like he had imagined but more beautiful!
How could you doubt her existence, next you will be suggesting Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy are not real.

Yes Lamb Chop - it was great fun as always. I gather this was your first time? Samantha is quite a surprise isn't she? Christopher Biggins - well what with these images to add to that polka dot bikini ---- hmmmmm!!
Glad you had a good time.

Hi Sarah
Thanks again - yes it was great fun. They got a little muddled with the dates at the end, but I think they said the second show would be on Mon 5 Dec, so the first one is, presumably, the week before. Friends asked how they get on the distribution list, so yes, I think they are converted. We didn't actually manage to meet up afterwards - too many people and it was raining, but we will catch up soon and compare notes!

Hi Tal,
Yes it was great, thanks. No vox-pop this time, so no one to ask what it was all about! We will just have to wait and see. Shame really we have some really good answers now!
I don't think it will be trailers as they recorded a couple last night. The first is very different and worth a listen - if they use it!

OK, now that sounds interesting - I guess it shouldn't be too long until we hear them!
