Is there any way to clear the "all your discussions" page? I have no use for the information - especially not when it refers to a thread or board I only visited to find out what this DNA stuff is about. And I don't particularly want anyone else to have unnecessary info about me.
Peta did mention something which can no doubt be find in the massive thread- or the abbreviated version of ehr replies someone made- I didn't quite understand it.
Lovely to meet you (briefly) on Saturday- I trust you got home ok?

hello dd. if you go to h2g2, find your page,(i'm assuming that by registering here one automatically is registered there?) on left hand side you will see list of all your posts in here. under each one is the word 'unsubscribe'. if you click on all of those it will wipe them from your page in there and in 'your discussions' in here. i've been told that that doesnt wipe them from the page of anyone else in h2g2 who has put you in their list of 'friends'.and that they will still be on their page. although i'm not sure about that. as somebody else said that only applies to anything you might have typed in your own space over there.
but at least you can get them off of here!
I need the 'all your discussions' page - it's the only way I can get into the new Mustardland! If I click on the 'MB-A-Z' link (which is how I access all the ´óÏó´«Ã½ boards) it still gives me the old ML link - so I have to go to one of the other boards I've posted on (in this case POV) and click on 'your discussions' to take me to my first post on this baord.
This is my second.
Or my 2202nd...

irene - your conversations in here won't end up on anyone else's lists. It is only entries in the journals in hootoo that turn up from your "friends". I've a long list of journal entries on my discussions from hootoo (eg from Dagesh) but any other places / conversations that e.g Dagesh has posted (either in hootoo or in here) have never appeared on my discussion list.
hope that helps!

Hi irene!
No, you'll have to 'activate' your Hootoo account to use it first, but that's very easy to do. Just sign in here with your new ML log-in, DD, then click the following link to get to H2G2:
You'll see a menu on the side; click on 'My Space', you'll see a list of all the DNA threads you've participated in under the 'Conversations' heading, with an 'x' in front of them, which is the button to boot them off your Discussions Page. Underneath the threads you'll see a 'Show more Conversations' link; if you click that you'll get a 'Postings by DD' kind of mayo, listing all of the threads at once. Bookmark it, and you'll be able to do very speedy clear-out operations.
Hth!

So that's how its done! Thanks irene. All I've got to do now is remember to remove the old stuff every now and again.
Well, it's good to know that we can clear out our discussions list.
One argument against them is that they make like easier for trolls and stalkers.
The argument put forward /for/ them is that, no they don't, because we can all click on them and see where that person has been posting - so clearer to everyone if they are trolls or not.
Now, since we can /all/ delete our discussions anyway, I don't see how this counter-argument is valid!
