According to some new laws in Rome, you can be fined for keeping your goldfish in a round bowl because it can send them blind:
How could this be, do you think? Is it because of the distorting lens effect of the curved glass, or is light being concentrated on their eyes?
Oh, and you'll get fined if you don't take you dog for walkies often enough. I can imagine all the new telephone hotlines for pets to phone in and grass up their keepers.
It's ruff keeping a pet in Italy, but fur's fur, can't have the paw animals suffering. Or are they barking up the wrong tree? OK - I'll FINish now!

Ahhh! The poor fish, not only a short memory span, blind as well. Round, bump, ouch! Round bump ouch, you get my drift. I hope I haven't offended any owners of goldfish, I had some and loved them

Well, I suppose the law makers in Italy can sit and write what they want, culturally the Italians stick to which laws they consider to be sensible.
