I've looked back a few days and I can't find a thread - sorry if there is one and I'll beg forgiveness!

I need to gossip about Martha and tell Belle to watch Liam and tell Rachel to make sure she doesn't become a gym widow and tell Irene to keep her chin up - the widow will be found out soon!

This going to be a one sided conversation then!

Isn't Aden wonderful? Why would Belle chose that Rock star Liam over him?

This is miles better than Neighbours at the moment.

Hmm, Aden is certainly a nice guy but the rock star is goodlooking.

I am totally amaxed that Irene can get the drink and the guard is not found out - surely someone else would notice that she was drunk??

And what is Hugos secret do you think?
all very interesting and thanks for the thread

I'm intrigued as to how Hugo was injured too - I'm wondering now if it does tie in with Irene's troubles because I'm at a loss to work out how.

I find the Hugo/Martha thing funny - Martha wanders around looking and acting like some pouting sex kitten half the time and we're seriously meant to believe she doesn't know how Hugo might have got the 'wrong' idea.

What I don't understand is Xavier, who's supposed to be a normal sixteen year old. Much of the time he appears to be living on his own with Martha yet apparently completely oblivious to her charms. That just isn't credible.

I was suspicious about Hugo's injury from the start as he seemed so cagey about it.
I agree with other posters - Aden is wonderful and I can't understand why Belle would prefer the rock-star who clearly cannot afford to buy a razor.

But what I really like about Home and Away is that characters don't disappear completely as they do in Neighbours. Family members in the latter never turn up even for weddings and funerals, and it's as if they've gone to another planet, not just another state. Weird.

But Belle doesn't prefer the rock star as she made quite clear last night. And she's told Aden that but he doesn't believe her.

Anyway, in a few weeks it won't matter either way

There are a number of threads which are regularly on the front page, but which interest me not in the slightest. So what? I read the threads which interest me, and ignore the others.

    "Compromise", "Get along" ?

I'm sorry, I'm definitely not meaning to be difficult but what does it matter how many TV topics or other topics you might not be interested in appear on this board?

I'd agree if we were talking about the annoyance of opening multiple threads on closely related topics (as found on some boards I could mention). But we're not.

Two completely different programmes with one thread for each. What on earth is the problem with that?

It gets tedious when practically all the threads on the front page are about TV programmes. I'm not one of the posters that has been complaining about all the new threads (which you may have noticed if you'd been reading the recent threads, but I suppose you haven't). But some folk have, and I was just suggesting a way that we could compromise by keeping them to the minimum amount. That's all, you didn't need to be rude.

Us refugees are aware of our impact, so we have done things like try to group together certain topics.
Many, like me, are old pro's and also post on many boards not just the now "castrated" POV.

We have come as fellow messageboarders who have been under oppression from TPTB, during a period of messageboard cutbacks.

We surely stand together in the face of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ promotion and endorsement of Twitter and Blogs as their favoured forms of communication, whilst they axe our favourite boards? Your's may be next, they've already had a swing at a couple of radio boards.

Any rudeness in the exchange has not been on my part at all. You put your oar in by suggesting something that just isn't necessary. Yet somehow I'm the one being accused of rocking the boat, of not getting along, by rejection of your 'compromise'.

The point is that was not a compromise being offered - you simply wanted others to follow your suggestion and all I've done is said no. The reason I said no has already been explained and is not because I'm being rude, not because I'm being unfriendly.

Enough of this - let's just get back to what we should be discussing here and forget this disagreement. Pax?

I don't think so JudithEL, the nose-out-of-joint nearly ex-wife has something to do with it, else why does she keep popping up?

Annie seems to get more miserable by the day.

Geoff has a permanently surprised expression all the time - I bet the baby isn't his.

Belle is getting thinner and if the camera puts weight on then she must be skeletal in RL.

Roman is acting totally out of character, even getting in the car to drive to suss out the secutity guard was a stupid thing to do.

and yet, strangely, it really does read as though you *are* being rude. Many of us, on a number of threads, have extended a welcome to the POV refugees - more posters makes for more interesting discussions and all that. But it's not unreasonable to expect that anyone who joins ML will make a bit of an effort to integrate rather than go out of their way to put people's backs up.

I quite like the Annie character - her Droopy like expression gets more, erm, Droopy like every time something or someone disappoints her. Because she is so idealistic so much and so many people seem to do just that and consequently she goes around looking glum most of the time.

At least this time she has plenty to be glum about: Irene in prison for murder, the Belle situation and now her brother has, apparently, has a managed to get his new girlfriend up the duff.

That's something I have a bit of an issue with in H&A, they realistically, depict teenagers as actually having sex, even (shock, horror) casual sex occasionally but there's never any suggestion of them actually discussing let alone using contraception beforehand.

I agree that Annie is one of the most annoying charactoers as she is so idealistic (everything is black and white to her ands she doesn't seem to think about what she says to others). Geoff is just a pain in the whatsit as he is so depressing.

Actually now I think about it can't think of any of them who are "happy" and smile anymore. Even Miles is turning into a comedy act (with Gardy and the falling in the sea episode).

And I don't think irene did kill him but the ex wife must know something or why is she still appearing?

AND WHAT IS THE SECRET WITH HUGO and what does anyone see in Martha?

I know what I see in Martha/Jodi Gordon, at least when she's not flashing her scary teeth, but the character, I agree, is a utter pain - high maintenance, moody, dogmatic, over-sensitive and self-absorbed. ok, but what about the boots and shorts Martha insists on wearing a lot of the time and the awful hair/wigs in the cancer storyline (I found them really distracting and how quickly does hair grow really?)
Also how does she think she can run a farm just like that all on her own (apart from help from the boys of course) I though she was a barmaid.

Denim shorts, cowboy boots and good legs = win for me in the looks department. Hair though, not good at present, agreed.

The farm storyline is quite ridiculous - she could probably grow as much as she wanted on an allotment size patch of ground and still have enough left over to sell on at a profit. If she's really meant to be doing it as some sort of commercial exercise it is totally unbelievable.

There's never any pro-active involvement, so to speak. In situations in which it might seem obvious to get police help, they don't - with the inevitable complicated consequences.

That's been my theory too - Irene's been the patsy all along. There were a lot of indications during their 'courtship' that Lou may have been trying to tempt her to drink. Maybe it was just done in innocence but although he apparently didn't know she was an ex-alcoholic they were layering on the scenes with him offering her booze prior to their boat trip.

Why Irene simply didn't tell him earlier on about her problem with booze is yet another example of the inexplicable choices characters are forced to make just so the plot can play out as intended.

My guess is the whole thing is a life insurance scam followed by a double cross by the wife.

In this technological age one thing I've been wondering is if there would be any GPS records for the boat and any other ones in the area at the time of Lou's disappearance. Might prove useful.
