because actually we're closing down this messageboard*
Any suggestions for a song to leave ML to? Channelling my inner Johnner, I come up with:
The carnaval is over - The Seekers (for an new message board?)
These foolish things - take you pick for a performer - I rather like Brian Ferry's version
Love her madly - the Doors.

We could put the Sound of Music one on a loop tape and force Mr Nigel to listen to it for an hour or two ...

No No DebZ... clearly the only song is Yellow by Cold Play
Please please let one of the clever people who do the parodies write a song for ML.
Its swan song..........
I've popped a "Goodbye Dolly Gray" parody on the end of "Nostalgia" in FArchers

In response to your suggestion and the request from ruralsnowflakebliss:
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd post and chat forever and a day
We'd read the threads we choose
We'd write of cats and cake and booze
For we were posting each, in our own way.
La la la la...
Then the Beeb's buldozer was rushing by us
We lost our lovely home along the way
If by chance I see you in the ether
We'll smile at one another and we'll say
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd post and chat forever and a day
We'd read the threads we choose
We'd write of cats and cake and booze
For we were posting each, in our own way.
La la la la...

I don鈥檛 want to get all pedantic in the last few days, but 鈥
It鈥檚 鈥淵ou can CHECK out any time you like 鈥︹
(you鈥檙e as bad as the singer in my band, he always gets the words wrong even when he鈥檚 got them on a sheet of paper in front of him)
The End, by The Doors of course.
Let's Say Goodbye - No毛l Coward
Let our affair be a gay thing,
And when these hours have flown,
Then, without forgetting
Happiness that has passed,
There'll be no regretting
Fun that didn't quite last.

>>>Raising the tone (Radio 3 doncha know):
Dido's Lament<<<
ooh excellent choice
(quite apart from the singing - great frocks)
em, getting back to the OP - isn't it 'check out' rather than 'book out'?
The original Mustardland anthem (written I think by Jack Worthing - who seems to have done a Bunbury) contained the line:
You can LOG out any time you want, but you can never leave.
(Which I meant to type for the title of this thread...)
