I'm here!
(Thanks, Kip, for the link!)
I popped into Leggsy's thread the other day - I'm sort-of around generally...
It's going to be Very Strange Indeed without ML being here even if I'm not here, if you see what I mean. It's just always Been Here... and now it won't be...

I'm here now again!
I'm finally in the last six months of that eleven-year PhD, post-Viva... so sometime this summer it will be re-submitted, and if they feel I've done everything that was in the written feedback then it goes through without any further examination of me, and I shall be Dr Laura at long last!
So I'm not around as much...
I had sort of thought I'd post in here when it finally is Done, being as how so many of you were there at the start... but I shan't be able to... :'(

Hi, Laura! More power to your elbow. Hope your re-submitted thesis satisfies the examiners. Nobody will have earnt that Dr more than you.
Please come and tell us when you are Dr Laura, in Peet's.
Elsethread we were wondering where you were, Laura. Glad to hear you are well and good luck with your thesis.
I remember when I was in Italy and you were in Languedoc and I think we both had some adjustments to make - ML was a lifesaver then.
I hope to get to grips with Peets so hope to hear from Dr Laura when it all comes together.
All the best
Eileen

Eileen, I do remember our times in new countries indeed - SEVEN YEARS last night was the burning of Shulargh in a wicker heifer on Lakey Hill with tromboning kittens and all...
At the moment, life is just very very busy, so I'm not heading into Peet's as I have enough distractions already for now...
A number of you have kindly requested friend-adds on Facebook - very sorry to you all, but for a range of reasons I keep my FB list to only those I really know in reality, and even then it's very tight because I simply don't cope with larger numbers of people. So, sorry to be un-friendly, but please don't send FB requests... Happy to recieve messages if you want, but not to add friends even when it's MLers...

Laura, when you get your doctorate, perhaps you could come into Peet's then and let us know. We could have a party to celebrate! Goodness knows you'll deserve it. And we will enjoy celebrating with you.
Meantime don't work too hard and good luck with it.

Just to say I appreciated Laura's (and Woofti's) contribution to a thread I posted on a couple or so years ago.

Goodness, what a good memory you have, occasionalist! Thankyou.
Thanks everyone for the nice comments - and for all the support over many years of me getting in a pickle!
I shall try to dig out my details for Peet's, but if I can't then I'll re-register to come and let you know when I re-submit and if it goes through this time - fingers crossed it's late summer/ early autumn...
