hurray!...Managed to find them in the Co-op last week.
Crunch crunch....
My favourite cereal! Readily available round here. I also like Force Flakes but they are harder to find.

Hi poppy. Glad to find another lover of Grape Nuts. I usually have them with another cereal rather than on their own. Today it was Shreddies.
Force Flakes? Not heard of those. Will have a google.

Sussex - do check the GNs carefully!. This story relates to the 50s when my mother was delighted to find them on sale - I think they had been unavailable since WWII. She peered into the box to see a seething mass of grubs - whole lot flung into the depths of the Rayburn. Sorry if that's put you off your breakfast...
I don't buy them - not because of the above but because OH could finish off a box in two sittings.

Sainsburys have them.

I must look more carefully when I shop there later today then as I haven't seen them for donkey's years. Very much a part of my childhood.

Mrs T, have I got this right? You don't buy grape nuts because your OH rather likes them ?

I put a spoonful in my porridge and delia uses 50g as part of the biscuit base in her yummy key lime pie recipe.
My local Morries sells 'em

I first heard about Grape Nuts in '1066 and All That'. Apparently, Napoleon, in his early days, dealt with a Paris riot by firing on the rioters, he later described his action as 'a Whiff of Grape Nuts'

Quintus - he doesn't prefer them to any other cereal. Portion control is a science that has passed him by. I do buy him the odd box as an occasional treat but we'd be on short commons if I bought them regularly...
Mrs T
Also in Waitrose. They don't go very far, do they?
I like them with sliced banana and warm milk as an alternative to porage.
We used to have them as a Christmas treat.
Since I am now able to buy my own Grape Nuts I have done just that, and more frequently than once a year, but it just isn't the same if it isn't Christmas morning. There are a couple of packets in the cupboard, although I think they're out of date. I might see if they're still okay and have some instead of a egg tomorrow.
OH thinks they're a bit punishment.

I have a bowl of red seedless grapes, greek yoggie and grape nuts as a weekend breakfast and love them. Also with stewed rhubarb and greek yoggie.
I get mine in Sainsbury which always has plenty on the shelves.
Stewed rhubarb, wonderful, easy on the sugar.
Sainsbury's here, and a couple of the other larger supermarkets.
I am not entirely sure if anyone needs worry about a best-before date, if they've not yet been opened, especially now they come sealed in plastic. They are basically dried grit, so it's not like they can go off... (I remember feeling quite put out when they first put them into plastic inner sleeves, rather than just straight in the cardboard box, though no doubt they were just complying with some food hygiene regulation. Less chance of grubs, for one thing.)
Grape Nuts....

no, it's just very cold in here....

Not an insignificant point, grubs love cereals!
There was an outbreak of 'confused flour beetles' years ago with Ready Brek. Apparently the beetles got into it and duly laid eggs, which hatched out months later, in front of less than delighted purchasers.
I've had moths in muesli too.

I like them with Weetabix or Shredded Wheat (or on their own). Nice contrast in textures. (In my opinion, anyway - my brother thinks such a combination is madness).
