This morning, we had a call, from Blunders' stepson. He and his family were going to come down to visit him at home. They duly arrived and showed off their wonderful son, Jamie. Both Mother and child are doing well, and Blunders is too overwhelmed to post, so asked me to post this picture of him with his new grandson.
Tea and cake were had so it was a proper meet. It was a long day, as he had had his first bath, and they needed to get out of their home. The weather is cool and airy, and the sun was shining. I did get to cuddle the baby for a bit, but grandpa soon took him back again. It's been a magical day, and we were all a bit emotional.
That is absolutely lovely. Congratulations to all the family. Welcome Jamie.

No we're not getting married. We are close friends. And no Dragon Fluff, the beard is white, not black/grey and Blunders' beard is for winter warmth only, he says.

Oops, sorry Rwth - jumped the gun a bit there! Still a lovely ML story, though and so glad you were able to share it before the big meltdown
What a lovely photo of Grandpa Blunders and Jamie. How lovely to meet him. Thank you for sharing it!
Here doing other things on my tiny bit of the Mission to Save Mustardland (MSM) and saw this so I had to say many congratulations to Blunders. Grandchildren are a great joy and privilege and the tender look on old Blunders face says that he knows that full well.
Enjoy your little one Roger - he looks an absolute treasure.

Yesterday was an overwhelming day for me, just so emotional.
I never imagined holding a child of theirs in my arms. She's had so many miscarriages and then very painful IVF. They gave up in the end and then Bingo! I was always scared to 'phone in case more misfortune had befallen them. They left it late to tell everyone because of the previous happenings.
After six months of chemotherapy, I thought I'd not be around to hold the baby, but if yesterday is the only time, sobeit. It was wonderful. A stunning little chap, two weeks old.
I wept for the 'late-lamented'who would have loved that moment.

Blunders, you look so proud and happy in that photo. What a joy for you all little Jamie must be especially given the turbulent history. I remember when you posted to say that he was on his way and the pleasure that the news had given you.
I hope you get lots more cuddles.
