Letter from America.
Bit of a dry old stick, but he did have a way with words and we could always understand what he said.
I shall look forward to that as a replacement for mustardland.

Gawd - Letter from America used to make my ruddy teeth itch. Even before I knew that teeth /could/ itch.
GNURSE!!!!! Clearly I am only fit for the Knackers Yard as I am over 30. Strewth! Give me strength!
Would anyone else like to patronise me today ? - go on, while you still have the chance.
In terms as a replacement, as useful as a chocolate teapot or an ashtray on a motorbike.
But I like AC, enjoy reading the transcripts of his talks, and will (unashamedly) listen to the broadpadcasts thingies.
But they are in an entirely different category to ML, and IMO serve only to reinforce where the Beeb has gone wrong.
(Congrats, BTW. This Grandad thing is good, isn't it?)

Priceless!
I used to quite like LfA
Back ground noise in my Grandparents house on a Sunday morning.
Tea and toast at 10 o' clock.
A comforting ritual.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, I thought interactivity was supposed to be two way. How am I going to interact with AC?

Ouija board?
Well, to be brutal, do you know anyone who had a transplant a few years ago?

So why was Message 4 removed? Just a bit of a Monty Python sketch in which AC was savaged by ducks. I thought it was great.
Quack!

Lili - it was all meant as irony, I'm not getting at you, you're lovely you are.
I'm as peed off as you.

I knew that, Blunders. (Congrats on Grandpahood, BTW!) Grandpahood? Is that some kind of garment? Or a rather sinister elderly member of the Mafia?
I am just feeling totally pea'd off with this weeks happenings, and I wish all Interactive Editor-types Instant Bad Karma.

Just got modded,
I don't think that General Purpose Machine Guns and Interactive Editors mix somehow.

Norty Blunders. And you a pillar of society and all that...
Sorry - I don't think I meant 'pillar'.
My Dad was a big fan of Alastair cook and his letter from America, I always thought he was dessicated before his time and almost unbearable to listen too, I dare say he was sharp enough but his style was lost on me.

I thought in the last couple of years, he lost his critical edge and just became Republican. But in his earlier days he was excellent.
I particularly enjoyed a letter where he was explaining how you could sound like an expert by commenting on a sweeping remark about a country by saying "But not in the South (or North) I think". Another was about how the story about the Marshall Plan took a long time for people to pick up on when it was very good news for a lot of wartime deprived, (but not in the UK I think. We had won the war after all).
