Oh I think you should, Helen. Your public needs to know....
I think everyone knows already!
Mustardland's a lot more interactive. Aside from his Archers blogs, all previous one have been met with a deafening silence.

What?
More interactive than the Supreme Galactic Champion of Interactivity hisself?
Goodness me!
Does Ming the Merciless know of this development?

I think one of those "ter's" is surplus to requirements...
Now here's a thing -
Is it "ter"s
Or "ters"
Or "ter's"
Is there a Grocer in the house?

Once upon a time I used to lurk a lot on a Professional Airline Pilots website, where "Nigel" was universal shorthand for modestly-qualified and under-experienced British Airways managers.
I make no further comment.

Wot happens when we're all killed off from interacting? Does he get the chop cos nothing to do then? Rose, you're labouring under the misapprehension that interacting is a two way activity. No one ever talking back will not render his blog uninteractive; it will merely confirm that he's got it all right and we're happily taking notes from past editions of Letter From America. I know that's what I'll be doing...

But I downloaded the DID archives over a year ago. Why is he talking about them as if they are something new?
Actually some of them are quite interesting, especially in view of what people have done since. Mary Portas for instance.

You betcha!
My feeling is that he was only The Messenger, and now that he has made a complete hash of even doing that in a credible fashion, he will soon feel the cold steel of ´óÏó´«Ã½ managerial hospitality.
Mustardland or Nigel Smith?Â
Which is better?
There's only one way to find out...

Heaven knows I'm not a huge fan of his, but I think that 1000 regular posters and 10,000 lurkers against one Head of Un-interactivity is a tad unfair...
Fight, fight, fight, fight!
Sorry, I don't know what came over me there.

I think Nigel Smith is a sterling chap and Does A Good Job.
Personally I think he should be made a saint.

If one is sterling, then one is almost pure silver (92.5%)
If one is almost pure silver, one has to be marked with a punch!
4 times, I believe. Maker, Assay office, Silver Standard and Date
And in order to be sanctified you have to be dead........
Hmmmm.
Which would you prefer, Blunders?
Head of Un-interactivityÂ
Since his attitude seems to be "whatever causes us the least work", I prefer to think of him as the "Head of Inactivity".

I'm working on a 6.30 comedy series now. Working title "Radioinactive".
I've already got actors lines up to play Mike Flex and Mike stand but I'm looking for a third Mike. Any ideas?
Ask Gareth if his brother's free...?

I couldn't possibly comment Abel, but I'd stand to attention and remove my beret as the hearse went by.
Then go to the pub for a celebratory snifter.

'Tis I, Ming the Merciless, I was just about to chat to my new friend Nigel.

This may be an unpopular thing to say but I actually feel sorry for Nigel and I think some of the villification is unwarranted.
This is a bloke with a managerial job who is trying to manage a no-win situation. We know very little about him or his job. We don't know if it was his decision or someone else's. We don't even know if he was in post when the decision was made, because the decision to close the boards was made quite a while ago and ML is just the last to go.
His communication skills with us haven't been marvellous but what did you expect him to say? How could he have said it differently to make you feel better?
I agree, he didn't come over marvellously on feedback but he is a manager not a politician, comedian or presenter. I bet he went home kicking himself for using the line about DID and whatever other programme he mentioned. I bet it sounded really convincing when he was practising it rather than deeply patronising as it came across. He's never been on the radio before and he's got an unpopular thing to say.
It's accepted in DTA to talk of deddings and burnings of characters (not that I join in but the odd slapping I could condone) but this is a real person we are discussing.
Give the guy a break please.
Tin hat on, running for cover.

Sorry, but someone who puts his name to the decision to close down part of my life, OK not an irreplaceable part, but nonetheless a part, is not going to get any sympathy from me.
10,000 people have lost something as well, and has he ever even bothered to interact with any of them via their community?
I think not.

When a student has to come to see me about failing a subject or not turning up to lectures, it's known as the "interview without coffee".

Give the guy a break please.Â
Certainly. Which leg?
But seriously, he showed up on Feedback and pretty much admitted that he didn't really know what was going on, then tried to distract us with shiny podcasts. He was adamant that it was all about savings, and that closing us would help towards the 25% savings he needed to make. But on here we see that the boards were funded outwith the official Online Budget, so no matter how much closing them saves it won't help him with his 25% target. And then on his Blog he now says the decision has absolutely nothing to do with the money.
All the while he seems to communicate in pronouncements. Not especially "interactive", IMHO.

Quite so. But can we find out to whom he reports or is beholden for his empire? I can't, the ´óÏó´«Ã½ management structure is entirely opaque from here. I can see how George Orwell conceived 1984 while working for them. We know Tayler and Keri are pretty much supportive but out of the decision making loop.
And there is no Director General, and just one Chris Patten who has fourteen jobs.
