If it wasn't for the board closing it wouldn't be an emergency yet, but please please I need your help!
Some of you may remember me moaning about having had nail surgery to sort out an ingrowing toenail. Unfortunately, the whole nail fell off last week (good in a way, as it doesn't hurt anymore) and though it will grow back I will spend most of the summer without a nail on my big toe.
So, I need to get hold of a pair of closed toe sandals! Or I'll have to spend the summer with sweaty feet, or possibly espadrilles. Or pretend I'm on my way to film Embarrassing Bodies.
I'm looking for everyday flats (can't do heels), not smart but not for tramping around the countryside in either.
I've only managed to find these , but not keen on the colours available (white, patent black or silver).

There's a page of images here. Maybe you could follow up some of the ones that appeal to you
I'm glad it's stopped hurting, but commiserations on the sandal problem. I'm sure shoe advice will also be available in Peets/Sues.

Too casual?
Plenty of toe room, apparently

Thanks Dunlurking, just a little toooooo sensible. I found some on the images, but they were wither hugely expensive and in the US, or not available anymore.
Found these though, pricey but pretty. Nice colour too. Might just have to. Maybe.

I like El naturalista shoes. They're super comfy and very well made.
I'm also quite fond of Josef Seibel shoes too. I've got wide feet and they could have been made for me. Loads of toe room too.

I want some hotters for dog walking duty.* Have to wait till pay day, though.
*I have some rather expensive Nike trainers (tautology: Ed), but they aren't very comfortable.
Hotter Shoes are roomy and comfortable.
I've got several pairs and wear them all the time.
Available by post too.
All kinds available: loafers, flats, lace-ups, trainers, smart casual, heels.
Worth a look at hottershoes.com

If you had more money (and size 61/2 feet)

Pretty, but even that heal would kill my ankle after not too long. And I simply couldn't spend that much. Just couldn't.
Heel!
Dratted, dratted flea!!!!
