A scandal-hit councillor who was once the highest-paid in the UK has courted controversy once again by claiming to have slept with an Arsenal footballer.
Brian Coleman, who calls himself the 'King of Bling', made the surprising statement in a post on his blog about an unrelated subject.
He did not give any hint as to who the player might have been, other than saying he was a striker.

He did not give any hint as to who the player might have been, other than saying he was a striker.Â
And he scored.
Eh? Who cares who he slept with? Never heard of the bloke before.
Now you are just being daft Reggie ( sob...) he probably shot right over the bar.. (Sob) or if he did really score was sold to another team
What a nasty, pointless article in a nasty, pointless newspaper.
Not got the courage to name the player he slept with? We can draw our own conclusions.
And they wonder why footballers won't come out as gay - or feel it's so taboo that they come out and immediately retire from the game. Well done, Daily Mail, you're really helping gay footballers in their cause, aren't you?
Now you'd never get a woman doing this, would you?
Ever heard of the Ryan Giggs case, for example!
Would it make a difference if it was a striker from the Arsenal Ladies team?
Did the Councillor actually use the word "he".There are female Arsenal strikers as well.
I have no idea if the Councillor is gay.
There's no taboo about heterosexual footballers, Arena.
Is it not just the DM suggesting it is taboo because they've assumed it's a man? I'm guessing the DM know or suspect the councillor is gay so are plotting a witch hunt.
There's no taboo about heterosexual footballers, Arena. Â No but there is something sleazy about sleeping with them and then telling the world (and his wife) that they have done so.

Hmm, one would have thought an Arsenal striker could have done better than that........
The article says "Mr Coleman, who is openly gay...".
It also goes on to say "Homosexuality in football is currently a hot topic due to the very small number of openly gay players - only three professionals are believed to have come out during their careers."
I wonder why. Well, actually, I don't. While the DM and other rags are making a fuss about it, players aren't going to want to come out.
The striker must have been blind to sleep with this bloke.....which may explain Arsenal's form.

Would you mind awfully if I don't?
It's just that I couldn't give a flying fart about who did what to which Arsenal player.
Just so long as they remembered to change ends at half time.
And concentrated on keeping a clean sheet.
......................players aren't going to want to come out. Â
And why should they 'come out'?
I have never questioned the sexuality of footballers nor anyone else.
I am corresponding with you and have no idea (nor desire to know) your sexual preferences.
They don't have to if they don't want to. But if they do, there are a number of reasons why they might.
So they can appear in public with their partners. So they don't have to hide their sexuality. So they can show the world that there's nothing wrong with being gay. So they can be themselves.
I don't give a tin hoot whether a footballer is gay or not. But if he/she is, I want him/her to be able to tell the world.
The striker must have been blind to sleep with this bloke.....which may explain Arsenal's form. You may have a point there (although we are 5th in the BPL so compared to, say, Liverpool we are doing well.. Ok clutching at straws I know hey tats football for you)
Amazing isn't it how posters can get so wound up about a non story
A self publising guy gets the Mail to publish this nothing story, and the gullible fall for it and get so excited
Nothing better to do in the dying days of this board I suppose

Indeed not Bryan. We may all have to buy the Mail ourselves next week.

Giggle

Perhaps the board closure is a plot by the Mail to increase sales
No the Mail will be distraught, they get half their stories from the ´óÏó´«Ã½ boards (and plenty of quotes from POV).
Did Brian get taken uo the Arsenal?
Or did they keep it discreet
Perhaps the board closure is a plot by the Mail to increase salesÂ
How so? I thought we were mostly swivel-eyed leftoid Guardianista yoghurt-knitting tofu-sandal wearers?
< And concentrated on keeping a clean sheet. >
Indeed. A penalty is awarded for a foul in the area.
