Who will post the last post on Monday morning? It won't be me, I'll be at work. (sob).
Will there be an unholy rush or will there be a dignified reticence?
Is this where the last post race begins?
It will be a hamster, the hamsters always are the last to leave the building, they used to shove Elvis through the door, just to make a point.

Well it won't be me Bolls old girl, as I'm six hours behind you lot so I'll miss the final goodbye.
I'll be in here most of Sunday though so we can have a tearful send off then maybe.

I'll be at home, looking after the Geekling. I may have to slap Num Tums on to keep him occupied for the finale.
You mean you are not staying awake?

I know what I would like the last post to be on the Equestrian thread:
Wagons roll
As we finally move to our new tack room.
Wagons roll, was my Nan's way of saying she was off or we were leaving somewhere.
Meetings may preclude me from being in ML at the bitter end.

Goody.
My Pandora radio has just played Ashokan Farewell by Mark O'Connor and I welled up I tell you. I didn't think I would be so affected.
Last post!
Well they could shut the boards early.

Do we still have a poster called Lars Post?

I'll be delivering words of wisdom (shuttup at the back) to eager adolescents when the board goes, so tomorrow will be my End of Days.
I reckon it should be Loot. He could sign off with some comment about the ´óÏó´«Ã½'s pointy shoes.
Last post grab!

Hi Bolly
I wouldn't be surprised if all the frantic candle lighting fifteen minutes before closing time causes the site, or everyone's computer, to implode and there won't be a Last Post as such.
Look forward to reading your posts elsewhere.

It was suggested elsethread (can't remember where) that the final post should be the final line from Hamlet 'And the rest /was/ silence. That quote isn't absolutely correct, because the poster who suggested it didn't want to post the actual quote until Mon. I think that's an excellent idea.
Oh Doneky - from the Esoteric School of Oblique OP's. No wonder I didn't spot it. I was educated at the Spell It Out in Words of One Syllable School of the Bleeding Obvious.
So I shall repeat to boost this thread and I leave ML with a 1 post thread - that's me all over.
I am with Joe Grundy in that I think we need an Official Last Poster, who is a personage of some standing & longevity in the ML community. Our very own Joe Grundy.
Otherwise I fear we will have an unseemly scrap at the end - with a three minute pause - as some of us (not me as I will be otherwise engaged in the struggle) go for a place in history.*
*The sharp elbowed muddled classes - that means you.

I's vote for
Nigel Smith, "Cue the Doom Music".

No, dear Boneman, after you. Your gallantry is much appreciated and your comments on my obliqueness spot on.

Maybe it'll shut before 12 (though Tayler has assured us it won't, so I'll discount that.)
Or 12 will have come and gone, people will start thinking they've forgotten to pull the plug and then -
gone.
