Carol was admiring a Sorbus with dark pink berries on GW. I was a bit surprised when it was named as Sorbus hupehensis as I thought this had white berries with a slight pink flush? (Mine is, anyway). My first thought when I saw it was Sorbus vilmorinii. Did anyone else wonder if this was right?
Loved the hedging piece in particular. Still not sure about that shrubbery - doesn't feel like they've really got a strong vision for it - it's all bits and pieces to me.

Hi Trillium,
Whilst visiting RBG Edinburgh yesterday I saw the very same Sorbus hupehensis complete with dark pink berries, some though were white with a pink tinge but most were pink and this variation appeared in each cluster of berries on the same tree.

Just looked at Sorbus hupehensis on google images and there was pictures showing the berries as anything from white tinged pink right through to the pink that they showed on GW. There are maybe different cultivars with varying amounts of pink? Looking at RHS plant selector shows Sorbus hupehensis C.K. Schneid as having white berries tinged with pink.
