Please can anyone tell me where I can obtain, and indeed, how to erect a wire pergola, like the one just shown tonight
Not allowed to advertise, Helen, but goggle google 'wire pergola'...not very strong items.

What do you mean, of course I have looked at google, and nothing is very relevant, which is why I posted the message here!
I looked at the factsheet for 6th May's GW, which is when Joe created the new pergola but there is no specific information on how he did it or what wire he used ... so this is from memory:
He used some sort of nautical wire, some metal supports and tensioners. Put the wire through the supports and use the tensioners to tighten. I can't remember the spacings between the wires, but I would guess about 8-10" apart. He chose a wisteria to climb the pergola.
If you have Sky or cable, look at the UK Style Gardening channel when GW is repeated at some future date.
PS I don't know if it was your intention but your previous reply was rather abrupt when someone was trying to help you.
Didn't see the wire pergola on Gardeners World, Helen, and had in mind the wire arches sold in DIY sheds. Too lightweight. Keep posting. Regards Ken.
Thanks for your reply, it was very helpful. I didn't mean to be abrupt to the last reply, I had a two year old on my lap and my train of thought was gone!

Google for Halyard cable or rigging equipment.
