I havn't watched DG garden school and by the sound of it i'm not missing anything.

I used to love Home Front in the Garden. never missed it, and never thought of DG being arrogant (then). I didn't like his chelsea effort (D minus) and it did appear he was very arrogant and was brought down to earth a bit with his award.

one thing i now recall about Home front though was he didn't like the paying customer to dislike/change/disagree with him. despite the mood boards, he still really had his own agenda.

I'd still love to see it back on screen. I find him inspirational. Are there any plans does anyone know ?. I don't see much garden telly these days. Too busy in the garden smiley - doh

I like DG because he isnt afraid to experiment with different materials and designs.Yes,he can be a moody sod,but he seems to get wound up when people change their minds about something which has previously been agreed or when things dont go quite right.

Dont know about him doing another series of Home Front, but he is sorely missed from our screens. smiley - sadface

    Hi Steve,

you're right about the experimentation. it doesn't always work... that's to be expected but he really made me think about design. Ground Force was always a bit B&Q for my liking. nothing wrong with that especially but i wouldn't call it design. I particularly liked the sunken gardens, and lighting effects with DG. the gardens looked different from different angles and time of day and he created a good sense of mystery. some of the results of course were a bit strange. shark fins e.t.c. but on the whole, i'd let him design my garden, as long as i had the final say...

i'm happy with what we've created in our gardens though. it's makes the ours
