I'm sure everyone is busy getting ready for the big day, but didn't you think GW should have been shown last week. If they were giving people ideas for decorations there wasn't much time to follow suit was there. Anyway, I really enjoyed seeing Monty doing some very vigourous digging. I do like it when he gets physical.

He makes a big song and dance of doing the most simple things - fine if you're looking at him as a potential studmuffin but not good as an instructor / communicator.
Do put that wet fish away Istclass!
I enjoyed the programme but I also thought it was way too late to be showing how to do garlands and house plants and pots for Xmas. Without wishing to raise the ugly head of sexism, it is, in most cases, the lady of the house who does these and on Xmas Eve she's busy with her kitchen preparation so next year, please, can we have an extra week to follow the sometimes excellent ideas and advice.

I reckon all presenters would be far more circumspect if I had that fish at the ready behind every camera but hey ho can't see me getting the chance unless they let me on Little Britain.
On the timing theme - we the viewers of course, have no idea when the programme was made ( rough guess looking at the O.B. shots ) and the presenters probably have no control when it goes out.
What do reckon that giant garland cost to make? Wonder what the break even on the gate price is after that?
Something Monty said made me think they'd recorded the last bits very late for Friday broadcast which is far too late to be telling us about things like Xmas cake walks etc which are over by the time the program was aired.
It's not exactly rocket science for the producers and presenters to cover this kind of info a week or two ahead. It's not as if Christmas is a surprise event in the annual calendar!!
PS - Garland - seeds, labour and materials. Not enormous given the gardeners are already there doing other jobs in the hall's grounds and seeds for those annuals are fairly cheap.
Then ropes and labour for constructing the garlands. Probably cost effective - especially now they've had the publicity and can expect more visitors next year.

Yes, good points. One of our customers has paid us around £1,200 to chop the winter firewood! God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen was a very popular carol down in the teahut!

Don't forget that the real Rocket Scientist blew up two rockets and their crews trying to stick to a timetable!
I reckon some of the programme is on file for a while ( think of doing several shots for different weeks in one set-up ) and then more cogents bits added at the last moment - like the weather forecast.

Well I wouldn't go so far as that Alan, but I do like to see him get physical which he does do well!
