I shall be raising a glass or two of fine claret in memory of Christopher Lloyd - the man who's done so much for our ideas of modern gardening firmly rooted in the past. Sadly the mould is broken but Great Dixter - his life's work lives on.

I certainly hope the trust is set up so that we can still enjoy Gt Dixter ( and I hope they put in a decent tea room !!!)
